Lines We Love: SENTALER

If there’s one thing we’re always on the look-out for, especially being based in NYC, it’s an amazing outerwear brand. Something chic and beautiful but with a level of quality that will also keep us warm for seasons to come. Fortunately, the SENTALER collection had recently come to our attention, (thanks to a fabulous deskside appointment) and with Winter right around the corner, we couldn’t wait to share more about this modern and sophisticated brand. SENTALER first came to be when designer and Creative Director, Bojana Sentaler, traveled to South America and discovered the beautiful fabric that comes from shearing Peruvian alpacas. Having to withstand much colder temperatures up in the Andes mountains, these animals produce a thick fur that has microscopic… Read More

Runway Report: Antonio Berardi SS18

The creative genius that is Antonio Berardi looked back in time as he prepared for his SS18 collection. Like many Europeans, his family moved over from Sicily and grafted with what they had to make a living, and live well. His collection represented his history and his and his family’s pride in always presenting your best self to the world. Relatives would send clothing from America, and they’d sew together what they had to create something new. Fast forward to a Monday in London and Berardi’s models were adorned in mix-media fine tailoring and silhouettes – a type of ode to arts and crafts. Suiting in pink, olive green, gray checks and black set the tone for smart workwear with a crafty twist, … Read More

Runway Report: Sally Lapointe SS18

Shift silhouettes glammed up with fringe hems met seventies era sequined jump suits in Sally LaPointe’s SS18 homage to monochrome gone modern. Sparkling chevrons and stripes covered mix and match suiting separates and batwing sleeved disco dresses while more minimal wide legged tie-waist trousers paired with bandeau tops for looks that were feminine and fresh. Runway Report: Tibi SS18

This season Amy Smilovic and the Tibi team took up the challenge of redefining workwear. While the line of relaxed tailoring, denim separates and sporty shifts (perfect for dress-down Fridays) were undeniably good, it was the notable practicality of it all that lingers. The sharp lines of city-chic tailoring was paired with simple tanks; smart jumpsuits with double-breasted buttons were teamed with flatform sandals; dresses were simple and light-weight with unusual splits and seams to add interest. Amy and co had considered summer in the city, running from meeting to meeting and all while looking cool and timeless yet cutting-edge to boot. Overall the looks felt effortless and entirely transitional, with wide transparent PVC belts ensuring an ‘after work drinks’ twist … Read More

Runway Report: Jonathan Simkhai SS18

After making the permanent move to LA, SS18 was a stripped down, less complicated version of the Jonathan Simkhai pieces we’ve seen in the past. It was lighter, simpler, and felt like it had an ease and air to them as they walked down the runway. Having been inspired by the works of photographer Ward Roberts’ court series he created a collection that was ethereal yet energetic extending throughout the pieces from beginning to end. There was a precise juxtaposition presented for SS18. A mix of American activewear aesthetic but utilizing uber feminine fabrics and fabrications as seen in eyelet plisse buttondown wrap dresses, silk chiffon lace appliqué tops, crochet jumpsuits and macrame belted jackets. This mix provided the right balance of wearability and sensuality, Thanks … Read More

Lines We Love: Saaksha and Kinni

Saaksha and Kinni, an unequivocal display of contrasting duos- freedom and surrender, logic and emotions, intensity and tenderness. Perhaps the most forthcoming duo for the brand is that of masculinity and femininity. A story of qualities carried in each of us if we look enough.
